ZOZOTOWN in Japan has been doing very well in their distribution network, they’ve always offer good stuff from the international designers other than just the local Japanese designers.  I always keep my eye on the ZOZOTOWN website for these updated trends and new brands that are entering the company.  British designer Margaret Howell will launch her line at ZOZOTOWN on Monday, 22nd June.

Cheap Monday

It might still be a little early to talk about FW collection as we’re just in the middle of  SS, but we’re always ahead in the fashion industry.  In fact, the FW 2009 collection of most brands had already been previewed, and I’m gonna start with Cheap Monday.

If you look at the SS 2009 collection of Cheap Monday, you’ll notice that the brand has been pretty comprehensive, they have a large selection of unisex jeans, coloured skinnies, tees, shorts and skirts.  Is it gonna be the same in FW 2009?  Probably.  If you look at the F/W 2009 catalog that’s been released on 5th Feb, 2009, you’ll get the basic idea of the collection.

Motorcycle Jacket

Apparel - By Viennese @ May 4, 2009 12:33 PM No Comments »

It is always good to have a leather jacket weather it’s Spring or Fall.  Decades ago, leather jackets used to be in black, brown or grey only.  Today, not only that they comes in beautiful colours, they also comes in various styles, and Motorcycle style has been one of the most favourite in the fashion industry.  We’ve seen a few from Spring 2009 including the one from H&M x Matthew Williamson,  now there will more coming out in Fall 2009.

Let’s take a look at some of them. (please move the cursor to the pictures to see the brands and the prices)  You can purchase them online by clicking on the pictures below.

Blazer has never been this hot

Apparel - By Viennese @ April 20, 2009 9:15 PM 3 Comments »

I remember when I was in university, blazers would only appeared to be at the presentations.  They looked very formal, fitted,  and somewhat uncomfortable because of the shoulder pads.  They got wrinkly very easily when I had my shoulder bag on with all the reading material in it; and the worst of all, boring black shoes that goes with it.  I think didn’t wear them very often after I graduated unless I have meetings or job interviews.  To me, it was just an office wear.

200x200_b0100142_01Japanese fashion has always known to be inspiring and influential in the worldwide fashion industry, quite a few of Japanese designers earned the tickets to the grand stage fashion shows in New York, London and Milan.  However, not everyone of us could afford to buy Comme des Garçon or Yamamoto Yohji, so I always search for the alternative.  I usually go for more affordable lines, with good designs, just like H&M and designer crossover.

Betsey Johnson fashion show

Apparel - By Viennese @ April 9, 2009 7:57 PM No Comments »

About 2 weeks ago Amélie and I went to the Betsey Johnson fashion show for the spring 2009 collection.  The show was running in a night club on King St. in the Toronto downtown area, and we thought that there was going to be a line-up so we went earlier at around 10p.m..  Thankfully the line-up was not as bad as we thought, and we came back with some great pictures.
