Follow the Houndstooth

Apparel, Handbags, Premium Designers, Shoes - By Viennese @ September 7, 2009 11:07 PM No Comments »

Tweed used to look very old fashion to me.   My mom would wear tweeds, only from Chanel, and not the gray ones, she’s got the jackets in navy blue tweed , black tweed and a pink with white tweed for spring, I guess those are the only ones that look acceptable to me.  Not to mention the Houndstooth…never like them.  This year though, there are a lot of  tweed and houndstooth going on, Moschino, DKNY, John Rocha, Karl Lagerfeld, and Michael Kors are all great supporters for tweed and houndstooth.

Chanel Cruise Collection 2010

I was never a fan of Chanel.  Yes…I know it’s quite unbelievable.  It wasn’t my style though, the quilted handbags, the pencil skirts, the suits, the cardigans…they were too lady.  But I guess as I slowly approaching 30, I started to appreciate the elegance of Chanel more, and really…Chanel is not for young rich kids.

Mackage F/W 2009 Outerwear

Apparel - By Viennese @ August 25, 2009 1:23 PM 1 Comment »

The global fashion market is always dominant by European and American brands, there isn’t much room for Canadian brands there, mainly because Canada doesn’t really have a room for fashion to grow, there is only the Toronto fashion week and period.  There are magazines every year for fashion previews and runways in NY, London, Milan, Tokyo, Paris, and now even Beijing.  Remember Karl Lagerfeld had his F/W 2008 collection for Fendi at the Great Wall in Beijing China? I think the idea was absolutely brilliant. Take a look at the clips to refresh your memory.

Image of the Day

Eco-Friendly, Handbags, Lifestyle - By Amélie @ July 7, 2009 10:16 PM No Comments »

I know this image is a few months old, but I just can’t get enough of it. This eco bag is designed by Naco Paris, given to Karl as a gift and will soon be available on Colette. Arty Dandy has it on their website, I can’t confirm if it’s the same one as this one Karl has, purchase at your own risk. =)

Matthew Williamson x H&M

Apparel, Premium Designers - By Viennese @ April 14, 2009 12:45 PM No Comments »

H&M has become amazingly successful in the past couple of years, given the fact that they have great designs and amazing prices.  Each year, H&M partnered up with a celebrity designer for each of us who loved but couldn’t afford the million dollar designer clothing.  Following the prodigy of Stella McCartney, Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli and Rei Kawabuko – Comme des Garçon; this year, Matthew Williamson, an English designer took over the H&M and designer crossover.
