Shoes - By Viennese @ June 6, 2009 5:51 PM
I’m a sucker when it comes to wearing boots, apparently…I don’t know how to wear shoes (shame on me). I own a lot of shoes, the only problem is, I gave up after the first day of wearing them. If the shoes fits perfectly when I buy them, they tends to get tight when I first wear them for a day; and if they are loose when I buy them, they just simple fell off on me all the time. I tried them with pantyhose…doesn’t work, with small insoles…doesn’t work either, so I gave up. I ended up wearing only runners or boots all year round. I have all different styles of boots, ankle, cowboy, biker, over-the-knee, even rain boots!!!

I remember when I was in university, blazers would only appeared to be at the presentations. They looked very formal, fitted, and somewhat uncomfortable because of the shoulder pads. They got wrinkly very easily when I had my shoulder bag on with all the reading material in it; and the worst of all, boring black shoes that goes with it. I think didn’t wear them very often after I graduated unless I have meetings or job interviews. To me, it was just an office wear.

I’ve been paying a lot of attention to this Korean clothing line Eryn brinié, which has opened a store in Soho New York last year and it’s just been picked up by Revolve Clothing. Its style is French-inspired, romantic, feminine yet edgy. You will see a lot of silk, chiffon with leather and metallic finishes. The way they mix trendy, modern and practicality is done very subtly and brilliantly. Some may compare this to Topshop or H&M, but what makes Eryn brinié different is the fact that it has a concept. It isn’t just about everything trendy or designer collabs, check out these ad campaigns from the past and you will see how they channel their company image to the mass.

From Saks Fifth Avenue USD$300
We all know that Kenneth Jay Lane (KJL) is known for his “high fashion” design, and I’m sure a lot of divas including myself are attracted to his pieces. Celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker, the Olsen sisters and Mischa Barton had all approved his designs.

Garden Party Ring USD$98
In March 2009, KJL has launched his latest collection – the “Garden Party”. I have selected couple of pieces that I like from this wonderfully feminine collection in this post.
