It might still be a little early to talk about FW collection as we’re just in the middle of  SS, but we’re always ahead in the fashion industry.  In fact, the FW 2009 collection of most brands had already been previewed, and I’m gonna start with Cheap Monday.

If you look at the SS 2009 collection of Cheap Monday, you’ll notice that the brand has been pretty comprehensive, they have a large selection of unisex jeans, coloured skinnies, tees, shorts and skirts.  Is it gonna be the same in FW 2009?  Probably.  If you look at the F/W 2009 catalog that’s been released on 5th Feb, 2009, you’ll get the basic idea of the collection.

I remember when I was in junior high-school, wearing a pair of black Dr. Martens to school always seems quite luxurious to me.  In fact, a pair of plain classic black Docs is quite expensive compare to other black shoes in those days (we’re not talking about designer lines here, just school footwear), they could be ranged from USD$100 to $250.

10 years later, a pair of Docs still cost the same while everything else has becoming much more expensive, but with a lot more variety.  Recently, when I walked by a shoe store on Queen St. in Toronto Downtown, I discovered the new seasonal collection. 

I remember when I was in university, blazers would only appeared to be at the presentations.  They looked very formal, fitted,  and somewhat uncomfortable because of the shoulder pads.  They got wrinkly very easily when I had my shoulder bag on with all the reading material in it; and the worst of all, boring black shoes that goes with it.  I think didn’t wear them very often after I graduated unless I have meetings or job interviews.  To me, it was just an office wear.

I’ve been looking for a pair of coloured jeans for a good 3 months now, and all of a sudden they are on every table at ZARA. I personally prefer more pastels than electric brights, but pastels are tricky to wear, best fit would be ankle crops or skinnies. Revolve Clothing has a pretty good collection of almost everything, anyone confident enough to purchase something so personal like jeans online, check it out. For those with a lower budget, Uniqlo has a great collection to choose from and you can browse by colour. If only they ship to Canada…..
