Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels Centenaire Watch
Formally should be called “Perfume Bottle Collectors.” I guess we all are! More than often we buy perfume because the bottle looks good, isn’t it? Well…I just found the prettiest perfume bottle design from Van Cleef & Arpels (Van Cleef in short). This may not be new, we I rarely see stores that actually sell it. I guess it’s because of the brand, that is not really popular in Canada. I’ve known Van Cleef from their extraordinary jewelry and watch design; which of course, are extremely expensive as well. Not until I first saw the Féerie perfume…I thought this is something that I could afford. Not like they are as expensive as the Creed, still…they are not cheap, but it’s totally worth it. They are actually the only perfume that I bought without even knowing anything about scent. (Usually I tried at least) Take a look at them and you’ll agree!!

I’ve had this topic in my head for a long time because I’m a doll collector, my collection including Blythe, Pullip, J-Doll and Super Dollfie 60 cm. (basically all the Japanese dolls) The main reason that people are crazy about these dolls is that, they all have a style. Take a look at Barbie, I’m not a fan (she’s too perfect) but I can’t help looking at all the fashion Barbie has, from Anna Sui to Juicy Couture, to Vera Wang, no wonder collectors are so crazy.

Following the footsteps of Alexander McQueen, Anna Sui has become the second designer to join the Target’s Designer Collaboration series. Inspired by the 4 main characters from Gossip Girls, this collection is said to be combining the elements of art, city, spirit, punk and glamour. I can’t wait, Anna Sui + preppy with an edge (is there such thing?) at discounted prices, it can’t get any better!! If only there’s a Target in Canada!!
The collection is due to go on sale at 250 select Target stores and Target.com from September 13 through October 17.

From a make-up artist point of view, the packaging of product doesn’t help to make someone prettier, good products with good application do. However, from a consumer’s perspective, packaging makes a huge difference, they actually got us quite addicted in collecting them. Simply looking at Anna Sui and Paul & Joe cosmetics, both of these lines are very successful in packaging their products, their make-up accessories have also becoming very popular in the past couple of years. Notice that these cosmetic lines were inspired by their own clothing line, so as Jill Stuart Beauty. Jill started the beauty line licensing with Kosé Corporation, a Japanese cosmetic company and launched in 2005. Since then it has becoming extremely popular in Japan because of its “princess crowned jewel packaging”, and promoting as “innocent, sexy, elegant, fun and savvy.”
