jillstuartbeautyFrom a make-up artist point of view, the packaging of product doesn’t help to make someone prettier, good products with good application do.  However, from a consumer’s perspective, packaging makes a huge difference, they actually got us quite addicted in collecting them.  Simply looking at Anna Sui and Paul & Joe cosmetics, both of these lines are very successful in packaging their products, their make-up accessories have also becoming very popular in the past couple of years.  Notice that these cosmetic lines were inspired by their own clothing line, so as Jill Stuart Beauty.  Jill started the beauty line licensing with Kosé Corporation, a Japanese cosmetic company and launched in 2005.  Since then it has becoming extremely popular in Japan because of its “princess crowned jewel packaging”, and promoting as “innocent, sexy, elegant, fun and savvy.”

Mix Blush Compact Powder Blush ¥4,725

Now, lets ignore the beautiful packaging for a moment and go back to the quality and texture of the products.  The complexion products might not be compatible to prestige lines like La Mer or La Prairie because they are known for their anti-aging ingredients, but for younger skin, it is definitely worth to try the Moist Silk Cream Liquid Foundation with SPF18.  The Mix Blush Compact powder blush that gives excellent texture and pigment is also great, with a combination of 4 shades in a case.  Similar to the Yves Saint Laurent Blush Vibration and Givenchy Prisme Again! Blush Quartet, but bigger, more pigments, less expensive, and it comes with a round retractable brush that really helps blending the colours.

Fruit Lip Balm

Fruit Lip Balm ¥1,500

The lip balm is also great, it contains emollient oil that helps to prevent dryness and darkish skin, and the moisturized treatment also helps to smooth, refine and tones the lips.  There is a small rhinestone on the lid that makes it look absolutely adorable.

I personally haven’t try the skincare yet, but if you have, please let me know if they are good =)

Unfortunately, stores are only locating in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong, but if you really have to have it, try Bring Bling JP, you can place an online order, plus shipping an 8% commitment fee.  Prices are going to be determined according to the current JPY.  However, Jill Stuart Beauty will soon be launched in U.S., probably in the summer, so I’ll definitely keep everyone posted.
