How Nerdy is too Nerdy? Airbrush Make-up
Oct 14

I recently received a comment on my Facebook about the items that I chose for my articles were from “last century.”  That was a great comment!  I need comments like these to motivate myself to do better, but I thought I want to clarify the purpose of this blog a little bit.  As an artist, I’m giving the make-up and fashion tips for those of you who needed it, plus some new trends and new items.  They are not necessarily all the newest items because I keep telling everyone, trends comes and goes, BE YOURSELF!  Don’t rule by the trends and the pretty things.  If you want to be stylish and get to know how things should be done correctly, welcome to my blog.  If you want to be Fashion Forward, you don’t need my blog, you’re probably faster by looking at the items in a magazine, or see the Designers Runway videos for next season on Youtube, or look at Lady GaGa. (I think this sentence could be “boo…” by many people =P)  I’m here to create a platform for viewers to discuss and comment on fashion, not just on the items, and you don’t need the newest items to be Fashion Forward.  Lady GaGa dress up with old garbage bags will still get people talking.

To me, looking at the eye candies don’t produce anything because fashionable items have always been put on the perfect bodies.  I hope everyone who come to my blog actually read my content, not just glance at the pictures, otherwise it totally defeats the purpose of my blog.  This is set up so that people can use the content information and I don’t want to be “just another blog” with latest fashion trends but no substance.  Fashion is mix and match of fashionable items that “suits your personal style,” I don’t want my viewers to think that I’m trying to be Fashion Forward here and give you all the new stuff.  I’m no Coco Chanel, Marc Jacobs, or John Galliano (the Great!), nor I will be.  I don’t name my blog Stylish Diva Studio for no reason.

What do you think?  Stylish, Trashy or Fashion Forward?  Don’t you think it’s hard to draw a line in situations like these?

Some say Lady GaGa is fashion designers inspiration and some disagreed. (Well…Lady GaGa certainly got the recognition)  I’d say it works as a cycle.  Lady GaGa may not influence prestige designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Vivienne Westwood or John Galliano, but she may becoming some designers inspiration in the future.  Even Madonna has to change her style from time to time.    Fashion comes in a package, it’s combine with million things: trend + mood + art + visual sensation + musicality + harmony + personality + attitude + ……all together.  We learn from each other, and we influence each other.  I’m currently studying the history of graphic design that I think it meant so much to me as an artist, that we need to understand it backwards in order to move forward.  I hope my viewers are not materialistic, who just wanted to see a bunch of new items & trends without knowing the background of it.  If you really love fashion, you should love it enough to study it.  Remember, if you don’t know fashion well enough, it can dress you up but also crash you down.

Please keep the comments coming, I’m still learning about fashion myself, but I don’t wish to see them on facebook, I need comments to be left here so that my viewers can comment on it.  Thank you all for your support! =)
