I recently received a comment on my Facebook about the items that I chose for my articles were from “last century.” That was a great comment! I need comments like these to motivate myself to do better, but I thought I want to clarify the purpose of this blog a little bit. As an artist, I’m giving the make-up and fashion tips for those of you who needed it, plus some new trends and new items. They are not necessarily all the newest items because I keep telling everyone, trends comes and goes, BE YOURSELF! Don’t rule by the trends and the pretty things. If you want to be stylish and get to know how things should be done correctly, welcome to my blog. If you want to be Fashion Forward, you don’t need my blog, you’re probably faster by looking at the items in a magazine, or see the Designers Runway videos for next season on Youtube, or look at Lady GaGa. (I think this sentence could be “boo…” by many people =P) I’m here to create a platform for viewers to discuss and comment on fashion, not just on the items, and you don’t need the newest items to be Fashion Forward. Lady GaGa dress up with old garbage bags will still get people talking.

There are pink ribbons everywhere around this time of the year and we know that this is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It almost becomes a tradition for cosmetic and skincare companies to launch a product or two during this month as a form of supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. I’ve always love to shop; it is definitely guilty free when I’m shopping for a good reason. Thanks to the companies that donated to the cause, I know my money goes to the people who needed it while having all the beautiful products in return. I’d say this is one of the best way to make contribution to the society. Don’t you think? Now, let’s take a look at what’s available for Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2009.

We’ve introduced some really cool F/W fashion in the past 2 weeks for both men and women, which some of you may found the colours are too dark. Well…IT IS the season to wear darker colours, but who says we cannot wear bright and fun colours for fall? I pick some of the most stunning colours for this F/W, they are equally as fun with bright lip colours, or ultra violet shadows. (Oh…don’t put both on your face at the same time!!!)

I was never a fan of Chanel. Yes…I know it’s quite unbelievable. It wasn’t my style though, the quilted handbags, the pencil skirts, the suits, the cardigans…they were too lady. But I guess as I slowly approaching 30, I started to appreciate the elegance of Chanel more, and really…Chanel is not for young rich kids.

Everyone owns an iPod these days, or at least an mp3 player. Why shouldn’t we? We could basically plug everything into the device, music, movies, radio podcast, not to mention all the fun apps and games. Now just ignore the other stuff for a while and concentrate on the music. If you are a music addict like me, pretty much having music on 24/7, (ok, not when I’m sleeping) so it’s normal to be picky on the earphones (or headphone). I wouldn’t mind spending hundreds to get a perfect earphone because listening to music is very enjoyable. Why do you spend extra $$ on upgrading your cars sound system and not your earphones? I don’t see a reason for that. Honestly, you wouldn’t want buzz sound like your amplifiers are about to blast off, cheap headphones are gonna worn off faster than you can imagine, starting from the buzz sound.

Amélie…I’m not a fan of AI either, but I am a fan of Adam Lambert, more so of his fashion sense. I do like guys who are dare to put on make-up, it shows that he is fearless, and I’m very much admire that attitude.
Realize that music always tied to fashion? There are elements in music that we couldn’t ignore, costume is one of them. A song tells a story, dancers are tell that story with their body language, and costumes helped them to bring out their characters. A lot of fashion styles are heavily influenced by different types of music. The best thing about dance fashion is that, they are timeless, never go out of style, you can dress up in a 40’s glamorous look and dance a Fox Trot, no one will think that you’re crazy.

I’m no AI fan, but these photos are very well done, Adam is totally rocking this cover, don’t you think? I’m happy to see that the runner up is on the Rolling Stone cover and I have no idea where the winner is, what he is doing now and what his name is! You may think that this isn’t beauty/makeup related at all, but wait until you see these glam rock beauty shots. Enjoy! =)

I know this image is a few months old, but I just can’t get enough of it. This eco bag is designed by Naco Paris, given to Karl as a gift and will soon be available on Colette. Arty Dandy has it on their website, I can’t confirm if it’s the same one as this one Karl has, purchase at your own risk. =)

This is a special post to my inspiration – Michael Jackson.
I was shocked when MJ past away yesterday, I have a passion for music and I grew up listening to his music. I grew up in HK in the 80s, started listening to Western music when I was 7, he might not be the first one I listen to, but he was definitely the first one who taught me what Western pop music is like. I still remember how I saved up my money to buy his CDs when I was in my teenage years. He is truly an icon, when we talk about style, he definitely has it all for that era. If you notice that, my website logo design is also inspired by this talented trend setter.
